Hi again – time for another update from GiG HQ!
I was over in London last weekend to record my vocals for the new album! Pete and Simon joined me this time so it was great having both of the guys there for opinions and suggestions on vocal takes. We had a great time too- Steve Carey was once again pulling no stops in helping us achieve what we wanted for the album- I mean it from the bottom of my heart when I say there is no one else we could work with that knows what we are thinking or looking for when it comes to recording. We also were able to hang out with Chris from Lahannya/NFD too which was again really cool – Steve and I worked hard into the early hours of the bank holiday in order to get the best vocal takes possible! Pete and Si also done some more guitar work- it’s really starting to come together now! After one more weekend the guys should have done all they need and then it will be in the hands of Andy Jackson to master
Again- a huge, huge thanks to Steve for his work and to Chris for the company/feedback
We are also very excited to announce that we have been confirmed to be playing the Emergency Exit Festival in Austria next April! We’ll have more news on that as we get it – a big thanks to the organisers!
Finally – as a big thank you for everyone for the on going support of the band we are pleased to announce that we have put another two tracks up for free download! Check out our Reverbnation page where you can now download;
From our debut album Post Traumatic Stress – Some Kind of Saviour and from our Dirt EP – Nothing! (The track! We aren’t pulling a fast one haha). Give them a listen whilst waiting for our new album and indeed- enjoy!
Until next time!

Hi again- just another brief update from GiG HQ!
Pete and Si were up at Steve Carey’s last weekend and were working hard getting the album recorded! In fact, they have decided that they are going to be heading back in again to put some more finishing touches on the album!
If you check out our Facebook page then you will be able to see photos of the boys in action. Pete and Si both have been going the extra mile to make this album something special.
Of course I haven’t been resting on my laurels either! (well, I was the weekend they were recording but shh!)
I will be heading up to foggy London town this Saturday morning to record all my vocals. I’ve pretty much figured out the flow of the lyrics and reworked certain songs so I am ready to give it my all in studio. If possible I will get some more posts done over the weekend but I can’t make any promises!
More news as it comes

Hello again! I suppose it is high time I updated the blog again eh?
Well – if you have been keeping up to date with our Facebook page then you may have heard the good news already;
Grooving in Green are very pleased to announce that the second album will be due to be recorded very soon!
Pete and Simon will be taking a trip up to foggy London town to record their guitars and bass on 28/04/12 + 29/04/12 with Steve Carey once again! Then the very next weekend I will be taking a trip up with Pete so I may record my vocals and Pete will be on hand for any last minute tweaks that may be necessary. I think I speak for the band as a whole when I say that I am absolutely ecstatic that we are to be recording with Steve once again- it will be an honour to work with him once again!
We are also very pleased to confirm that once again Andy Jackson will be mastering the album- after the work both Andy and Steve done for us on Post Traumatic Stress we really couldn’t think of anyone else we’d rather work with on our second album.
In other news;
We had a fantastic time in Leeds back in March- I think we all enjoyed playing that gig and it was a great send off for our old backing equipment. It was great seeing our friends in Leeds- a big thanks to Phono Paul for putting us on once again.
Since this gig we have been hard at work getting ready for the album being recorded. Pete and Si have been hard at work getting to grips with the new equipment and ended up demoing up all of the album tracks with the new equipment. It has refined the sound so much more and the newer demos have also been tweaked to sound more how we envisioned them to be. I have also been toying around with my vocal effects pedal and all being well should be able to start bringing it along to future gigs to give us a more polished sound all round. All being well the next gigs should have our revitalised sound and possibly some new songs too
You may have noticed that our website has also been updated! I managed to get some time with our web master Craig to update some sections;
* The videos section has been updated to include more live performances. I will try to add more to this section as soon as I come across more videos! If you have any videos of the band please let me know where I can get a hold of them- I’ll get them added to the site and credit you!
* The Links section has been updated to include more links for those who have requested to be put up there! If you would like to be added to this section please get in touch with me and I’ll get you added post-haste!
* The Photos section: I am in the process of accumulating photographs- once I get the last of these I intend to revamp our photos section! I’ll be grouping the photos together by year and please- if you spot any photo of yours I have forgot to credit please get in touch so I can put your name up there.
* A Previous gigs section has been added. If you click on the gig you should also be able to see a flier for said gig! I am currently trying to find a flier for our Whitby 2009 gig- if anyone can help me with this please get in touch.
* We have added GiG radio to the webpage! Now you can stream all songs we have released so far on our web page!
Finally;
We are pleased to announce that you can now listen to all of our music on Spotify!
Until next time- keep an eye on this page and the Facebook page for further news on the recording of the album and some upcoming gigs.

As a thanks to our fans for the continued support Grooving in Green are happy to announce that we are giving the following songs away for free on our reverbnation page!
First off, from our Dirt EP we have Drowning Without You – still one of our live favourites, we feel it’s a song that represents us well even 2 years on since recording it- a Groove Goth classic!
Our second treat for your is a track from our album Post Traumatic Stress- the moody closing track 9th Circle! 9th Circle is one of our more sinister numbers – yet to show up in our live sets but who knows- maybe it could in the future…?
Give both a download and get yourself in the mood for the new album coming soon!
Also please note our contact info has now been updated to include our label contact;
damian@gloryandhonour.co – this is for our band manager at Glory & Honour records!
If you are interested in booking the band please use this address or you can still contact the band directly with our web address which is still: info@groovingingreen.co.uk
One last note- we have almost finished the artwork for our new album! Pete has been slaving away at it- hopefully we will have a preview up for you soon
Until next time…

Hey all – just a little update this time – it’s good news!
First things though – thanks to everyone who came to our Copenhagen show last Saturday night. We all had a great time and really appreciated the great response and being treated so well- we’d love to come back again sometime! Extra special thanks to Peter and Demitri for the hospitality as well as to some of our Norwegian and Swedish friends for making the long trip down to see us!
Now for the actual update – I am pleased to announce that since I last updated the site I have now finished writing the final two songs for the album, settled on the titled and we have also agreed on the running order for the tracklisting too
I am especially pleased with how the last song in perticular has come out – despite a blackout almost robbing me of the lyrics I had written!
Over the next few weeks we aim to finalise the artwork so that we can get the album released as soon as we possibly can once it is recorded in the studio. I’ll keep you updated as to when we are for entering the studio and maybe make a post or two whilst I am there.
One more bit of news- just a reminder that we will be playing Leeds on March 3rd – it’s not too far off and should be a good show all being well. Not only will it be the last time we use our old equipment – this will be the only UK gig we are doing until September as we will be focusing on the albums release in the interim as well as programming up new backings for all our live tracks and a new set.
Until next time…

Well, 2011 has a dissapointing ending with our gig cancellation.
Now that I am recovered and 2012 is underway that means it is time to get a live show or two in;
we’ll be playing in Copengahan, Denmark on February 11th for the Black Cat clubs 12th birthday! We’ll be putting on a great show and hopefully we’ll see a few of our fans there.
Then a few weeks later we will be playing in Leeds on March 3rd at the Library with Rhombus. Again, hopefully see some of our fans there.
In other news- late last year I finished off another song for the album- a little more upbeat this time and very much a gothic rock track. That leaves two more tracks to be written for the album and some fine tweaking before we go to record the album.
Yes- that’s right, we’ll be recording our second album this year and we aim to have it released as soon as possible.
We’ll be going on a brief hiatus from gigging until the album is finished and ready for release after March- so rest assured, we are keeping ourselves busy despite not being on the road- so that we can come back with the best album we can and a set of old classics and some new tunes too.
Well then, ’til February…keep on Grooving….

I am very disappointed to have to cancel our appearance this weekend in London- unfortunately I am not well enough to perform this weekend. I’ve been pretty ill all week, being sent home from work a few times (as has been documented by my usual inane postings on Facebook) and unfortunately despite my best efforts to rest up I’ve still at best got a croak for my speaking voice.
I feel like crap having to cancel- when the band has cancelled in the past I’ve made efforts to come over and do small guest slots with Rhombus. To be the one responsible for cancelling this time really is quite devastating.
I sincerely apologise to all those who were looking forward to seeing us and also to Gareth and Victoria the promoters who had booked us to perform- but I think it is better this than letting you down on stage with a substandard performance.
I’m sure Rhombus and Riot in Paradise will put on excellent shows- wish I could be there to see them too…

Hey again!
Well, the guys and myself had an awesome time in Germany at Area 51 again- we were happy to see some familiar faces as well as some new ones! It was of course an honour again to play with the Vendemmian crew- cheers to Natalie and Ralfi for putting us on! It was a long road trip but we had an excellent night playing old and new songs- and we have played Overland for what will be the last time this year. We’ll be putting it on hiatus in order to make way for some other songs- including our mystery cover! (The latest one since Grooving in Green with Rosie back in July 2010!). I have to say- it may be a surprise to some what it is- not the typical goth cover for sure
Now if you give the sidebar a glance you’ll notice we have two new dates announced; our last gig for this year on November 26th with the mighty Rhombus and Riot in Paradise (Terry Sexgang, Rob Stroud both ex Sex Gang Children, Michelle Sinn ex Junior Manson Slags/Suck Henry) at the Slimelight in London!
We also have our first confirmed gig of 2012! (Provided that pesky apocalypse doesn’t render it unfeasible!) – again we will be playing with Rhombus at the Library in Leeds on March 3rd in Leeds! I can assure you they’ll be great gigs!
In other news I finished off a new song for the album prior to our German gig (Quite a moody number) and I’ve made a start on one more. All being well it won’t be too long before we are back in the studio to record the second album!
The band also done a group outing to see the Fields of the Nephilim and The Mission last Saturday! It’s safe to say we all had an incredible time- indeed we found it quite inspiring- it’s given us plenty of ideas in regards to next years sets and live shows as well as ideas for more songs! Really- if you weren’t there you missed out on a show that was epic in every sense of the word.
Other than that we have some potential announcements regarding further gigs for next year – as soon as they are confirmed we will let you know! We are hoping to visit new countries to spreed the groove goth around (as well as revisiting old friends) so keep an eye on the site for more news as we get it
All being well we should have some new videos, photos and links up too in the not so distant future.
Until next time- stay Groovy!

Post Traumatic Stress – our debut album…
It was primarily written between October 2009 and February 2010. I was quite excited about writing the album – I think we all were. The two EP’s had gone down quite well and we were still collectively buzzing from our appearances in Austria and Whitby. It was decided that we would take a song from both EP’s (Dirt was a no brainer and we decided to revisit Premonition over Scene Wh*re as we felt it was a stronger song and suited the studio treatment moreso), finally record Escape Myself and then do 7 brand new ones.
